What are Fillers?
Soft tissue fillers or dermal fillers are a type of anti-ageing treatments that involve infusion of certain substances into the skin to tighten the loose skin and to reduce the emerging fine lines and wrinkles. Facial fillers can be temporary to long-lasting. Various types of facial fillers are available; each one is designed to serve one or several purposes, such as wrinkle reduction and lip augmentation.
What do the fillers contain?
These fillers contain solution of products, such as collagen, hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyl apatite that help rejuvenates facial skin. The solutions are administered through tiny facial infusions on specific areas of the face.
Are the fillers safe to use?
Hyaluronic acids (HA) are created by our bodies and are made up of a gel-like substance. It is a sugar molecule that binds to water and acts as a lubricant and absorbs shock in the joints. Fillers are based on hyaluronic acid. These fillers work by boosting the skin’s supply of hyaluronic acid; in turn, adding volume to the skin, rapidly reducing the appearance of lines and wrinkles, and giving a natural softer and smooth look. The fillers are tissue-friendly, long-lasting but not permanent.
How would the Fillers benefit me?
With growing age, the skin is more susceptible to wrinkles and sagging. Exposure to sun and years of muscle movement (squinting, chewing, and smiling) contribute to tissue breakdown as the skin loses collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid.
Fillers are a solution to tackle these problems; they work by reducing or eliminating wrinkles, raising scar depressions, enhancing lips and increasing the soft-tissue volume.
There is no down time for this technique, and immediate results are observed; the risks involved are minimum.
What is the duration of the procedure?
The time required for the procedure is about 20 to 30 minutes.
Is a single session enough to get the desired results?
Yes. Often, only one session is sufficient to observe the anticipated results, these results last at least for a year.
